Change in location for our Underwood School Family Picnic --- Our School Family Picnic will take place at Fletcher Park on October 7th from 5:30-7:00. This will allow for more spacing for families, increased parking, and opportunities for families to enjoy each other’s company. More information to come on details in the PTA weekly email and in next Tuesday’s folder.

JR Richardson being inducted into the Wake County Hall of Fame --- This Thursday night, our very own band teacher, JR Richardson will be part of Wake ED Partnership’s Stars of Education! More information can be found at https://www.wakeed.org/events/stars/ 

3rd - 5th Grade Cultural Arts Performance at Underwood ES for students on Thursday September 30th -  The International Bluegrass Music Association Festival (IBMA) will take place in Raleigh from September 27th through October 1st. The United Arts Council and WCPSS are working together to support assemblies at Wake County Schools in connection with the festival.  

Students Sign-in and Sign-out during the day -- there will be a QR code on the front office door to scan and complete. 

Transportation: 

Walkers --- For the safety of walkers young and old - we strongly discourage walkers' parents bringing their dogs to drop off/pick up. Our sidewalks on the other side of the street on Scales Street are very narrow and make it hard to safely pass each other.

2019 School's Notification - TSI -AT  - unfortunately with the inconsistency of the last two school years we have not been able to take us off of this classification as a school.

We are excited about starting week four of our 21-22 school year. Our electives start this week for first - fifth grade. Kindergarten will continue to have specials and a rest block. Their electives will begin second quarter (October 25th).
