Documenting Behavior in Ecats

Over the past 10 years our school has utilized Conscious Discipline to support and teach students to learn how to regulate their emotions.  One way that we can support students that may be struggling in different areas is for staff to document behaviors in a system in Ecats.  We collect this data by documenting incidents that occur and review the data monthly to look for trends (time of day, specific area, students in an area or time, etc).  Additionally, this is a communication tool for you to be able to reteach and/or reinforce the skill or skills that might need to be addressed.  If you receive this documentation are need more information, please reach out to the staff member that documented the incident or Alexandria Judge-Lenkeit (ajudge-lenkeit@wcpss.net).

Week of October 11-15

 Families,

I hope your week is off to a great start! It was so great to see so many families come out to Fletcher Park and join us for our school picnic last Thursday!

Below are some updates:

Non-Educational Items: We are working with our students on showing PRIDE in all settings of the school. I wanted to remind parents that toys and electronics should stay at your houses. We have noticed an increase of items such as Popits, Switch, Pokemon Cards, BeyBlades to name a few. This has caused distractions and taken away students' focus on their learning. These items should stay at home, if your child benefits from a fidget object, plan to bring one item for that purpose.
